  • Will my points be tracked if I shop at more than one Duane Reade store?

  • How do I track my point balance?
There are three ways to track your point balance:
    1. At the bottom of your receipt, where you'll see how many points you've earned in your most recent transaction and how many points you've earned in total.
    2. Online, at www.duanereade.com
    3. Call 1-866-DRLOYAL
  • What is the difference between "Regular Points This Purchase" and "Current Points" on my receipt?
"Regular Points This Purchase" shows how many points were earned in your most recent transaction, excluding any bonus points.
  • How come my "Current Points" are less than my "Regular Points This Purchase"?

"Current Points" resets to zero after you've earned 100 points and your $5 reward. Within a single shopping trip, it is possible to earn a large number of points, reach 100 points, qualify for and receive a $5 reward. Current points are then adjusted to reflect your new point balance, including any remaining points in your account after you receive your $5 reward.

"Current Points" reflects points earned to date in 2008, or since you last received a $5 reward. After earning 100 points and receiving a $5 reward, Current Points are reset, allowing you to earn towards another $5 reward.

  • How often are points updated?
Points are updated at the end of your shopping trip, except for bonus points, which are credited to your account by the end of the day. Present your card to the cashier with each shopping trip to earn your points.
  • What are bonus points?
Bonus points are given on selected items throughout the store, giving customers the opportunity to earn double or even triple points on those items. It's a great way to earn towards your $5 Reward even faster!
  • How long are my points good for? Do they expire?
On December 31st, all points including bonus points that have not been redeemed through a reward will expire.

  • I bought a case of beer and a carton of cigarettes yesterday, but didn't get any points. What's wrong?
Points are earned on all Duane Reade purchases excluding prescriptions, alcohol, tobacco, sales tax, lottery tickets, gift cards, money orders, prepaid phones, phone cards, postage stamps and Metro Cards.
  • How do I know on which items I can earn bonus points (or double points) this week?
Items where bonus points can be earned are advertised in the store circular or flyer for the week. In store, look for special bonus point signs on the shelf indicating which items are offering bonus points.

Signing up for the Dollar Rewards Club Card is the only way to earn your points and receive your $5 reward.
  • Why does it look like my points balance went down from my previous shopping trip?
Point totals can be reduced for one of three reasons:
    1. Merchandise returns, with a reduction in points equal to the value of the merchandise returned.
    2. You may have received a $5 Reward - each time you reach 100 points and receive a $5 Reward on the bottom of your receipt, 100 points are removed from your total.
    3. Points may have expired - Dollar Rewards points expire annually. All points earned within a calendar year generally expire at the end of the year.

Card Questions
  • Can I use my phone number if I don't have my Dollar Rewards card?
No. At this time you can't use your phone number as an alternative form of identification if you do not have your club card. However we are working towards developing a phone number look up capability in our stores in the future.
  • I made a big purchase yesterday and I forgot to use my card -- How can I add this to my card so it is reflected in my points?
Unfortunately, we do not currently have a way of crediting your prior purchases to your point total. If you still have your receipt from that purchase and the item you bought was un-opened, you can return it and then purchase it again using your Dollar Rewards card.
  • I have had my card for a long time -- Is it still good? How can I check my address, etc.?
Duane Reade Dollar Rewards cards never expire.
  • I have a card for my wallet, but I want the keychain size -- How do I get that?
You will need to sign up for a new Dollar Rewards Club Card. Please visit your nearest Duane Reade for a Club Card application or go to www.duanereade.com. Please indicate on the application that you are replacing an existing Club Card.
  • I have several cards -- Which one should I use? Can they be combined?

  • I already have a card -- Do I need to re-enroll in the New Dollar Rewards Program?
No. You do not need to re-enroll in the Dollar Rewards Program. If you wish to update your information, please go to www.duanereade.com.

If your card is lost, you can get a new card with your point balance transferred from your old card. Please call 1-866-DRLOYAL (1-866-375-6925) for assistance.
